The event involves the arrest of a retired police sub-inspector, Abdul Hai, by Kolkata police in connection with a passport fraud case. Hai, who had previously worked in the Passport Section of the Kolkata Police Security Control Organisation, was arrested for his involvement in a fake passport ring that issued fraudulent passports, including Bangladeshi nationals. The investigation revealed that at least 150 Indian passports were issued using fraudulent documents
